I like both. Both are very creative. But I feel that there is some strange indie-style connection between the artsy Wes Anderson and the upbeat, Columbia College prep Afro Pop of Vampire Weekend.

Is it the odd swirl of prep style and art school style?

What other connections are there that relates to both of my topics in regards to style, music (what bands, that is), film, and fiction?

Does anyone else get the same vibe? Could it also be the New England classical prep vibe?
