Open Question: I have been considering writing a book that will be fiction but I have also lived through a similar exper

The problem is I will need to get people to read it and Im afraid and embarresed that they will think that I am basing characters on them . I think this may affect how I write certain charaters and stop me creating unpopular/negative characters. Am I just being silly or thinking way to far ahead?
